Rockpools
Bembridge
Bembridge has a few beaches to speak of including Bembridge Ledge where at low tide there becomes exposed a rock formation. This ledge as it is known is responsible for many a ship becoming aground. Good for beach combing and rock pools, licensed cafe, an assortment of different beach huts, The Crab & Lobster pub is situated in an elevated position half way along its length. Bembridge Life Boat Station has a long walkway that resembles a pier from a distance. No esplanade, limited parking in small car parks.
Some rockpools here. Looking towards Culver Down and its monument in the distance just before that is Whitecliff Bay. On the right of the picture is the licensed cafe' and along the way some interesting beach huts. It is possible to walk along the beach in this direction (check tide times) or along the coastal path which is also recommended to Culver Down and refreshments at The Culver Down Inn. Walk in the opposite direction and you will come to Bembridge Lifeboat Station with its walkway out to sea. Toilets here and an RNLI shop. Multicoloured huts are adjacent here with another piece of beach called Bembridge Lane End beach.
