What to do on a rainy day?
The Island has record breaking hours of sunshine and in The South has its own mini-climate, but it does happen a rainy day or inclement weather.
Pictured above is the indoor Crazy Golf at Shanklin Esplanade and quite good it is for a wet day, parking nearby on The Esplanade or in a car park. There is another indoor Crazy Golf at Sandown Pier.
The Poo Museum in Sandown, a small different attraction.
Butterfly World attraction or the Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum in Arreton Barns.
Farringford House and gardens, booking is essential for the guided tour of the house. The gardens have an exhibition room detailing the extensive renovation the house has undergone.
Arreton Barns, there are quite a few shops to visit which are all under cover but you are exposed between shops. The Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum is here as mentioned above.
Godshill Village, again plenty of places to visit but the outdoor seats in one of the many nice cafe's and outdoor areas will be exposed.
Rylstone Gardens Crazy Golf, although the golf is exposed they have outdoor seating which is covered and if rain stops play you can return to finish your game for free!
Amazon World mostly an indoor attraction but there is an outdoor part as well.
Osborne House hours can easily be spent on the inside of this house alone, there is extensive gardens, a walk down to the beach and the Swiss Chalet as well.
The weather forecast is not that accurate for The Island especially the further South you happen to be. Heavy showers can suddenly clear up and the sun comes out and after a short while everything has dried up showing no sign that there ever was any rain.
