The Buddle Inn

16th Centuary Inn with oak beams and flagstone floors this was reputed to have been a smugglers pub many years ago. Adjacent to the pub is a converted barn and this is used to be popular with families but sadly footfall has dropped due to a road closure. Outdoor seating and small lawned area to the front as well as a patio area.

Since the Landslip of 2002 we have always tried to visit this pub to support it. The A3055, Undercliff Drive has been shut since then apart from a few years of a successful small bypass which subsequently became a victim of a landslip itself - this was the pubs passing trade in both directions and another route to Ventnor is now cut off. So the pub is a bit out on a limb and needs all the support and trade it can now get. St Catherine's lighthouse is nearby. The Buddle Inn On a nice summer evening it is nice to look out at St. Catherine's lighthouse flashing, this pub is not too far from Niton village centre around a 10 minute walk, there is a medium sized car park opposite the pub. Beware of the pub closing or stopping food orders before its advertised times!
